Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate at 94.5 percent; 2,936 new cases and 43 deaths registered

Kathmandu: Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population on Friday said that the country recorded 2,936 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours.

A total of 14,182 tests including 9,613 RT-PCR tests and 4,569 antigen tests were done during the period. The Covid-19 positivity rate stood at 20.70 percent. Nepal had witnessed 2,676 cases on Thursday with 8,256 RT-PCR and 4,512 antigen tests carried out in different laboratories across the country. The positivity rate was 20.95 percent yesterday.

With these new cases, the total infected number has reached 664,576 (in PCR tests) and 47,797 (in antigen tests) in the country so far. Likewise, altogether 1,775 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. A total of 628,243 people have recovered from the pandemic so far. Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 94.5 percent and case fatality at 1.5 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health, 43 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 9,506.
