Closed camp training of national women’s team begins

Kathmandu: The national women’s football team has begun training from Monday at the ANFA Complex to prepare for the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup qualification.

Forty-five players have been called up to the training by head coach Gary Phillips. Assistant coach Chetan Ghimire assumed the training today in Phillips’s absence.

Tribhuvan Army Football Club’s Kabita Dhimal and Sunita Chaudhary have been replaced by Anjali Waiba and Hema Chaudhary as the former is currently abroad with departmental duties.

Nepal has been drawn alongside the Philippines and Hong Kong in Group F for the tournament. The qualifiers matches will be held from September 13-25.
