Kathmandu: A total of 3,000 tourists entered Nepal in July. According to the Department of Immigration, 2,991 foreigners entered Nepal through the Tribhuvan International Airport last month. During the same period, 3,157 foreigners returned home.

The number of tourists visiting Nepal has increased after restrictions that were enforced to stem the spread of Covid-19 have been relaxed. A total of 1,143 tourists had entered Nepal in June while prohibitory orders were enforced in most of the parts of the country.

Out of the total tourists arriving from 99 countries in the last month, the highest number of 1,105 came from India. A total of 819 tourists entered Nepal from the United States, 185 from the United Kingdom and 165 from Turkey.

Similarly, 78 tourists came to Nepal from Canada, 50 from China, 45 from Belgium, 41 from France, 26 from the Netherlands and 19 from Russia.

Among the South Asian countries, four tourists came to Nepal from Bangladesh, 14 from Bhutan, five from Pakistan and three from Sri Lanka in July.

According to the Department of Immigration, 25,205 Nepali citizens returned home in July.
