Kathmandu: Police have arrested teachers protesting outside Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Friday.

The law enforcement agency arrested around 200 teachers who had reached the Prime Minister’s residence to stage a sit-in putting forth various demands.

Nepal Teachers Federation has been protesting since April demanding that 20 percent of the annual budget should be allocated in the education sector, teachers should be promoted en masse, and the problem of conflict-affected teachers should be resolved among others.
