27 succumb to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours; 3,274 fresh cases recorded

Kathmandu: The country has reported 3,274 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Tuesday.

Kathmandu district recorded 673 new cases while 219 and 141 new cases were recorded in Lalitpur and Bhaktapur districts respectively.

Among the new cases, 2,456 were confirmed from 11,565 RT-PCR tests while 818 were known from 6,124 antigen tests carried out in the last 24 hours across the country.

Similarly, a total of 1,929 infected got recovered in the same period. With this, the number of active cases in the country is 39,871. Of them, 36,575 are in home isolation and 3,296 patients are in institutional isolation.

Likewise, a total of 790 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment in ICUs of various health facilities while 191 are with ventilator support.

A total of 27 people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 10,345.
