Kathmandu: People across the country are celebrating Janai Purnima and Rakshya Bandhan, the Hindu festivals which fall on the full moon day of the lunar month of Shrawan, according to Nepali calendar.

The tagadharis, people belonging to Janai wearing castes, throng to temples, holy rivers and ponds where they take holy bath before renewing Janai and having Rakshya Bandhan from their family priests.

While people were seen to visit major temples of Kathmandu Valley such as Pashupati and Ashok Binayak, there was not much crowd like in the previous years.  Many people are seen to wear masks, while others do not seem not to care much about it.
