In pics: Leaders reach Election Commission for verification

Kathmandu: Leaders of the proposed CPN (Unified Socialist), including its Chair Madhav Kumar Nepal, have assembled at the Election Commission for fulfilling the process of registering a new political party.

They have arrived at the Election Commission (EC) along with the required documents for verification. Before this, the leaders including Nepal had applied to the EC for party registration.

The EC had called all the leaders who had signed on the application for party registration to its secretariat today for verification.

Jagannath Khatiwada, one of the leaders of the proposed party, said the required number of the signatories fulfilling the quorum for registering a new party was physically present in the EC. Pradip Kumar Nepal is also among the leaders present for this purpose.

Similarly, the leaders of the Mahantha Thakur-led proposed Democratic Socialist Party who had put their signatures on the application for registration of the party have reached the EC for the verification process.

Rajendra Mahato, one of the leaders of the proposed party, said their party has proposed a 30-member working committee.
