Covid-19: 2,161 recover in the last 24 hours; 1,640 fresh cases detected

Kathmandu: A total of 1,640 new cases of Covid-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours. This was found in a total of 13,455 samples tested including 9,767 through RT-PCR and 3,688 through antigen tests, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

Likewise, 2,161 people recovered during the period with the total recoveries reaching 733,161. The recovery rate stands at 94.8 percent.

Meanwhile, 10 people succumbed to Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, with the death toll climbing to 10,889 so far. The case fatality rate is 1.5 percent.

The number of active cases of Covid-19 is 29,479 with 27,690 of them in home isolation and 1,789 in institutional isolation. Likewise, 488 patients are in ICU while 140 are being treated with the support of a ventilator.

A total of 17 districts in the country have more than 500 active cases as of today. In Kathmandu valley, the number of active cases including 3,923 in Kathmandu, 1,253 in Bhaktapur and 2,013 in Lalitpur respectively.

Also today, 123,286 people were vaccinated against Covid-19. The total number of people vaccinated with both doses has reached 5,683,061 while the number with only the first dose includes 5,056,803.
