UML obstructs House meeting, slogans chanted against Speaker Sapokta

Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has obstructed the meeting of the House of Representatives on Wednesday. Following the start of the meeting, UML lawmakers stood from their seats and started chanting slogans against what they say is the presence of non-MPs.

The lawmakers also chanted slogans against Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota accusing him of a role in splitting the party.

Following the obstruction, Speaker Agni Sapkota postponed the meeting for 15 minutes.

Earlier today, CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli had warned of obstructing the meeting of the House of Representatives if the lawmakers of the CPN (Unified Socialist) attend todays’ meeting.

The tenth session of both the houses of the Federal Parliament began today. The agenda of the session of the House will include the bill to replace the ordinance budget, the long-pending civil service bill, the citizenship bill, and various ordinances issued in the past. The ninth session of the House ended on August 16.
