Covid-19: 1,562 fresh cases recorded; 589 recover

Kathmandu: A total of 1,562 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the country in the last 24 hours. This was revealed in 14,443 samples including 10,266 through RT-PCR and 4,177 through antigen method, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

With this, the number of Covid-19 infected people has reached 779,492. Likewise, 1,589 recovered during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries to 742,306. The recovery rate stands at 95.2 percent.

Meanwhile, 19 people succumbed to Covid-19 in the last 24 hours. With this, the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 10,984 in the country. The case fatality rate is 1.5 percent.

According to the Ministry, the total number of active cases stands at 26,202. Of them, 24,690 are in home-based isolation and 1,512 in institutional isolation including 453 in ICU while 137 are with ventilator support. Another, 223 are in quarantine.

Also today, 88,184 people were vaccinated against Covid-19, taking the total number of people fully vaccinated to 5,243,236 while 5,877,079 people have received the first dose of their two-dose Covid-19 vaccine.
