Two arrested from TIA with 3.3 kg gold ornaments

Kathmandu: Police have arrested two persons from the domestic terminal of the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with 3.360 kilograms gold ornaments.

The arrested are Bodhraj Bhandari, 30, of Kailai and Murairak Adhikari, 47, of Janakpur Sub-metropolitan City-2 in Dhanusha.

The law enforcement agency said that the gold ornaments worth Rs 20 million were confiscated during a security check-up at the baggage area. The duo was heading to Biratnagar through an aircraft of Shree Airlines on Monday morning.

They have been handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation for further action.
