Mega Bank increases interest rates

Kathmandu: Mega Bank has announced an increase in interest rates for saving accounts and fixed deposits.

The bank in a statement said that it launched the offer with the slogan ‘Dashainko Bahar, Mega Bankko Utkrista Byajdar Upahar’ ahead of the festive season.

Customers will get up to 9.55 percent interest annually on Mega Bank’s deposit account. Similarly, interest on the savings account will be up to 6.05 percent.

Similarly, Mega Bank has introduced a new savings account scheme with an annual interest rate of up to 5.05 percent. Visa debit card and mobile banking facility has been provided free of cost for two years in this savings scheme called ‘Mega Maha Savings Account’. The account has a 50 percent discount on the locker fee and 25 percent discount on consumer loan fee for two years and can be opened for a minimum of Rs 1,000, according to Mega Bank.
