Kathmandu: The death toll in Mugu bus accident has climbed to 32 as of Tuesday evening.
According to Karnali Province Police Office, 24 people were killed on the spot while four others die while being taken to Nepalgunj for treatment. Likewise, four passengers injured in the mishap breathed last at Nepalgunj Nursing Home, police said.
The bus, Bhe 1 Kha 3167, was heading to district headquarters Gamgadhi from Nepalgunj when it met with an accident at Chhayanath Rara Municipality-7 in Mugu district.
A total of 45 people were traveling on the bus. All the other passengers have been injured.
Those with minor injuries are being treated at the Mugu District Hospital. Chief District Officer Mahat and the chiefs of the security bodies in the district are engaged in rescuing the injured passengers, it is stated.
