Govt recommends President to prorogue Parliament session

Kathmandu: The government has decided to recommend before President Bidya Devi Bhandari to prorogue the current session of the Parliament.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on Thursday decided to end the House session from Friday midnight.

The main opposition party, UML, obstructed the entire House session demanding that 14 lawmakers it took action should be dismissed. The government got the budget endorsed through the Parliament amidst the obstruction. It, however, recalled other bills.

President summons and ends House sessions on the recommendation of Cabinet as per the constitutional provision.
