Kathmandu: Lawyers exchanged blows outside the Nepal Bar Association in Kathmandu on Friday. An advocate was attacked at the association’s premises ‘for speaking with media’.
Advocate Birat Neupane manhandled advocate Bhuminanda Chudal while the latter was speaking with media persons saying that Supreme Court should resume hearings.
“I was attacked questioning why I spoke in media against the judiciary,” said Advocate Chudal. “I will seek a legal remedy.”
Justices have been boycotting hearings since Monday seeking Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana’s resignation.
The umbrella association of Nepali lawyers is holding a meeting today to chalk out a protest plan demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice.
