Kathmandu: Lawyers associated with the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) have staged a sit-in on Monday demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.
The umbrella organization of legal practitioners resumed its protest against the Chief Justice from today, said NBA General Secretary Lilamani Poudel.
In a statement issued on Sunday, General Secretary Poudel said that the pre-announced protest programs will move ahead from Monday. NBA had staged different protest programs against the Chief Justice before the Tihar festival.
NBA said preparations have been made to carry out protests throughout the country.
It should be noted that NBA had given an ultimatum till Wednesday for Chief Justice Rana to resign. The deadline has expired.
