CJ Rana enters Supreme Court using alternative entrance

Kathmandu: Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana has entered the Supreme Court through an alternative entrance, skipping the protest by legal practitioners associated with the Nepal Bar Association.

The lawyers associated with the umbrella organization of legal practitioners have been staging protests in an attempt to stop CJ Rana from entering the apex court. This is the second time the CJ has sneaked into the office through an alternative entrance. 

The agitated lawyers chanted slogans against Rana demanding his resignation. 

Meanwhile, supporters of CJ Rana also staged a demonstration outside the Supreme Court premises. They [CJ’s supporters] have demanded the resumption of court activities. 

The Nepal Bar Association has been staging protests against the CJ Rana since October 31.
