Vastu is science. In simple words, Vastu is a science to balance energies—both negative and positive. It is a known fact that everything in this universe has energy in it, be it living or nonliving.

The Vastu shastra is the ‘Principle of Nature’ as it manages all the energies in the universe. There are five elements–Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire), Vayu (Air), Akash (Atmosphere)—known as Pancha Maha Bhoota, in the universe. These elements are the basis of all cosmic creation. Basically, the Pancha Maha Bhoot makes up everything–from atoms to anything.

As Pancha Mahaboota is the basis of all creation, we human beings, knowingly or unknowingly, have been following the Vastu shastra in a wrong or right way.

Why follow Vastu?

Earth is our home. We are all able to stand on the earth due to gravitational force. If earth is holding us up, we also have to follow the principle of the earth, i.e gravitational force, energies, and direction, among others.

Vastu shastra is nothing but about following the concept of energy. It is about balancing energies.

If I am inhaling air from the earth, I have to follow the law of Vayu. If I need sunlight, I have to follow the principle of sun. Hence, as aforementioned, knowingly or unknowingly, we all follow Vastu shastra.

If all the energies are balanced, one finds peace and harmony in home, office, or anywhere else.

The Vastu shastra is the proper arrangement of your rooms and household items so that positive energy flows in the surrounding, which in return will make one happy and successful.

A question might be raised: Will I be unsuccessful if I ignore Vastu? The answer I always give is, “No! But there could be hindrances in prosperity as a result of Vastu dosh.”

There are ten main directions mandated by the Vastu shastra. Every direction has its own significance in the Vastu Sastra. The four — East, West, North, South — are main directions, and Ishan (Northeast), Agneya (Southeast), Nitruya (Southwest), Vayaya (Northwest) are subdirections. Likewise, the other two are space and patal.

The sun rises from the East direction. If you need sunlight in the room, you have to build the room accordingly. If you need a properly ventilated room, you have to build it accordingly. If all these, among others, are followed, one can get a positive energy from home.

Following Vastu shastra makes a huge change in life. Ordinary people have achieved extraordinary success by following Vastu shastra.

A question might be raised: Will I be unsuccessful if I ignore Vastu? The answer I always give is, “No! But there could be hindrances in prosperity as a result of Vastu dosh.”

What after following Vastu?

Just like a patient needs time to recover after taking medicine, it takes time to see changes after following proper Vastu shastra. If a house, office, or anything has a Vastu dosh, negative energy is already revolving in the setup.

If the energies are managed as per the Vastu shastra, the negative energy will slowly vanish away, creating a peaceful environment.

You must have heard stories like people seeing ‘ghosts’ in the night, or waking up to a weird sound. This all happens when negative energies are in the surrounding. So the Vastu has an impact. If followed, you will get results.
