Kathmandu: Legal practitioners have staged a protest at high courts across the country on Wednesday as per a protest plan announced by the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana.

NBA staged sit-ins for two hours in 18 high courts across the country, including Patan High Court in the Valley, today.

Meanwhile, Chief Justice Rana has assigned ten benches for today including eight joint and two single benches. Hearing at the apex court has remained disturbed since the afternoon of October 24.

Lawyers have been protesting for the past one month demanding the resignation of the Chief Justice over the allegations that the CJ sought his share in the expansion of the Council of the Ministers.
