Covid-19 active cases drop to 5,635; recovery rate at 97.9 percent

Kathmandu: The country has witnessed a total of 280 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population stated on Wednesday.

A total of 252 were diagnosed with the virus in PCR tests while 28 were confirmed positive in tests undertaken through the antigen method. Samples of 9,212 people were tested through the PCR method while 2,782 samples were tested adopting the antigen method.

Likewise, altogether 300 Covid-19 patients got full recovery during the period. The Ministry said that the recovery rate in Nepal is 97.9 percent.

According to the Ministry of Health, six people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours, taking the death toll to 11,565.

Nepal currently has 5,635 active cases.
