Ruling parties form task force to discuss MCC

Kathmandu: The ruling alliance has formed a three-member task force to hold discussions on the US government’s project, MCC, with other political parties and reach a conclusion.

A meeting of the ruling alliance called by Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba took a decision in this regard on Sunday.

The task force comprises senior leader of CPN (Unified Socialist) Jhalanath Khanal, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and CPN (Maoist Centre) Vice-chairman Narayankaji Shrestha.

A leader present at the meeting told the RSS that the task force was entrusted with the responsibility to hold consultations with the political parties in regard to advancing different issues that are under consideration in the parliament and resuming the House proceedings.

During the meeting, NC leader Ram Chandra Poudel, Vice-President Purna Bahadur Khadka, Maoist Centre Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, vice-chairman Shrestha, CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal, general secretary Beduram Bhusal, Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal Chairman Upendra Yadav and party’s Federal Council Chairman Dr Baburam Bhattarai were present.
