SC administration directs legal practitioners not to stage protest at court’s premises

Kathmandu: The Supreme Court (SC) administration has directed the legal practitioners protesting against Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana not to stage protests at the premises of the apex court.

The SC’s administration has sent a message to the Chairperson of the Supreme Court Bar Association and Nepal Bar Association asking them not to protest arguing that the protest with the court’s premises has sent out a wrong message. Police in large numbers have been fanned out at the premises on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, legal practitioners said that they will continue with the protest. NBA Chairman Chandeshwor Shrestha said that they will not backtrack from the protest. Chairman of Supreme Court Bar Association Purnaman Shakya that the protest will not be halted.
