Covid-19 cases on the rise: Nepal records 540 fresh cases, positivity rate at 4.4 percent

Kathmandu: A total of 540 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours in the country. According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were identified from 7,209 RT-PCR and 4,890 antigen tests. Nepal had recorded 435 fresh coronavirus cases on Wednesday.

With the new cases, the Covid-19 tally has reached 830,480 (in PCR tests) and 96,445 (in antigen tests) in the country as of Thursday. The positivity rate stood at 4.4 percent.

Similarly, the Ministry confirmed that 271 patients have recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of recovered patients has reached 813,447 so far. The recovery rate stands at 97.9 percent.

According to the Ministry, one Covid-19 patient died in the last 24 hours across the country. The Ministry stated that the total number of deaths from coronavirus infection has reached 11,602.

The Ministry has further shared that there are 5,431 active cases of coronavirus across the country.
