Kathmandu: The government has said that the affiliation of the medical colleges, charging fee higher than determined by the Medical Education Commission, shall be canceled.

The Education Ministry warned of scrapping the affiliation of the medical colleges violating the direction time and again in the context of complaints received about different colleges charging high fees illegally.

A press release issued on Thursday by Spokesperson of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Deepak Sharma reads, “Action will be taken as per the Article-14 of the National Medical Education Act against the colleges charging high fees from the students in violation of the Commission’s direction.”

Although the ministry and Commission have urged the students not to pay the fees that were determined by the Commission, the medical colleges have not allowed the students not to pay fees to seat in the examination.
