Kathmandu: President Bidya Devi Bhandari on Tuesday offered her tributes to late King Prithvi Narayan Shah on the occasion of Shah’s 300th birth anniversary.
President Bhandari reached a ceremony organized at the west gate of Singha Durbar and garlanded the statue of the late King Shah, the architect and unifier of modern Nepal. The event was also attended by cabinet ministers.
The government has been celebrating the birth anniversary as National Unity Day. The National Unity Day is observed in honor of the late King Shah who unified various principalities and founded modern Nepal some 250 years ago.
