Kathmandu: The authorized importer for Volkswagen vehicles in Nepal, Pooja International Nepal Pvt. Ltd has unveiled Touareg R-Line in Nepal. The already famous Touareg gets the R- treatment this time with wide variety of added features, the company said in a statement.
Volkswagen is renowned for its class-leading bigger SUVs all over the world. The new SUV Touareg-R is powered with a world-class 6 cylindered V6 Petrol 3.0 Litre turbocharged engine that generates 340 Ps @ 5300-6400 RPM power & 450 Nm @ 1370-4500 RPM Torque.
The Volkswagen Touareg was developed as a joint venture project by Porsche and the Volkswagen Group, involving the Audi and Volkswagen brands. The name “Touareg” literally means “free folk” and is the name of a nomadic tribe from the Sahara, a North African ethnic group.
The designer “Frank Bruese” has designed the new Touareg R-Line which shares the same platform and much technology from its close cousins Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus.
The Touareg is a large-sized fun-to-drive luxury SUV produced by the German automaker Volkswagen Group since 2002 at the Volkswagen Bratislava Plant. The Volkswagen Touareg which was officially launched in Nepal in 2010 is an already popular Volkswagen model preferred by the elite group of the society.
The starting price for the new Touareg-R at 32.5 million which the company said will be competative against BMW X5 and Range Rover Sport among others.
