Kathmandu: Domestic flights at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) have been affected due to bad weather on Thursday. However, international flights have been operating smoothly.

Domestic flights to their destinations including Pokhara, Nepalgunj and Bhairahawa have been affected as a result of low visibility due to dense smog.

The westerly wind is likely to cause general changes in weather systems across the country for three days and also bring light rainfall in some mountainous areas and snowfall in the high hills and Himalayan region.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division at the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Kathmandu has witnessed a fall in mercury with a foggy sky since early this morning. Light rain has also occurred this morning.
The Division has urged one and all to adopt necessary alert measures as the temperature is likely to drop further with the chances of rainfall and snowfall.

Kathmandu’s maximum temperature was recorded at 5.2 degree Celsius and the minimum was at 1.8 degree Celsius as per the latest update of the division.
