Purbanchal University postpones exams amid Covid-19 surge

Kathmandu: The Purbanchal University has postponed all scheduled examinations over Covid-19 risks.

A meeting of the Exams Direction Committee held on Friday decided to postpone all examinations from Sunday till February 12, said Exams Controller Mohan Basnet.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, the BA LLB students from PU had boycotted the exams, after feeling unsafe to appear for the exam. They even staged a protest in front of the exam center urging the varsity to postpone the exam.

Earlier, The Tribhuvan University (TU) had postponed all the ongoing and scheduled examinations from Sunday until further notice. Kathmandu University, too, has postponed all its exams.

Nepal has witnessed a staggering rise in Covid-19 cases over the past weeks. A total of 12,338 new cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Thursday in the country in yet another highest single-day spike.
