Eight succumb to Covid-19; 5,292 new cases recorded

Kathmandu: The country has reported 5,292 new cases of coronavirus infection in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health and Population said on Monday.

Among the new cases, 3,472 were confirmed from 10,368 RT-PCR tests while 1,820 were known from 5,720 antigen tests carried out in the last 24 hours across the country.

Similarly, a total of 8,191 infected got recovered in the same period. With this, the number of active cases in the country is 79,272. Of them, 77,665 are in home isolation and 1,607 patients are in institutional isolation.

Likewise, a total of 288 Covid-19 patients are undergoing treatment in ICUs of various health facilities while 50 are with ventilator support.

A total of eight people succumbed to the pandemic in the last 24 hours taking the death toll to 11,743.
