Kathmandu: Former President of Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) Kamal Thapa has announced his resignation from the party.

Holding a press meet in Hetauda on Tuesday, Thapa announced deserting the party.

Thapa said he relinquished the party after President Rajendra Lingden paid no heed to his demands.

Lingden had defeated Thapa in the elections held for the top post in the recent Unity General Convention of the party.
