Daily Covid-19 count drops below 1,000 in Nepal

Kathmandu: The daily Covid-19 count has dropped below 1,000 for the first time since the start of the third wave of the pandemic.

The Ministry of Health and Population said it recorded 836 fresh cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The new cases were detected from 6,654 tests. A total of 4,260 RT-PCR and 2,394 antigen tests were performed during the period.

A total of 1,826 people recovered in the last 24 hours. Nepal’s Covid-19 recovery rate has now improved to 96.1 percent.

A total of four Covid-19 patients died in the last 24 hours. The death toll from the pandemic stands at 11,882 as of Saturday afternoon, the Health Ministry added.
