Writ filed demanding dismissal of Karnali Province Minister Lama

Kathmandu: A writ petition has been filed demanding the dismissal of the Minister for Industry, Tourism and Environment of Karnali Province Tshering Damdol Lama (Karchen Lama).

Biniti Bogati of Surkhet filed the writ at Surkhet High Court demanding dismissal of Minister Lama for his involvement in criminal offense. It has been alleged in the writ that the appointment of a person who is not even allowed to be a candidate for the province is a mockery of democracy and the rule of law.

It is mentioned in the writ that despite the provision in Article 283 of the Constitution that appointments to the posts of constitutional organs and bodies will be made in accordance with the principle of inclusiveness, the principle of inclusiveness has been ignored while expanding the Council of Ministers in Karnali.

The writ has demanded that women should be represented in the Council of Ministers as per the principle of inclusion envisioned by the Constitution.
