Kathmandu: The government has decided to administer a booster shot to those getting a single shot of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.

Issuing a notice, the Ministry of Health and Population said that those who got the J&J vaccine would get the same vaccine as the booster shot if available. If the same vaccine is not available, they would be administered with Covishield, AstraZeneca, Moderna, or Pfizer.

According to the Ministry, the booster shot would be provided to them after six months of getting the first shot.
