Kushal Bhurtel hits a century as Nepal sets 219 runs target against Philippines

Kathmandu: Nepal has posted a competitive 219 runs target against the Philippines in the match under the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier ‘A’ on Saturday.

A century knock by opener Kushal Bhurtel helped Nepal post 218 runs on the board losing only three wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Bhurtel (not out) scored 104 runs off 61 balls smashing 13 fours and one six. It is the first century by Bhurtel in his cricketing career. Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 83 runs.

Daniel Smith, Miggy Podosky and Gurbhupinder Chohan of the Philippines took a wicket apiece.

Nepal had defeated Oman by 39 runs in the ongoing qualifiers underway in Oman on Friday.
