Nepali embassy in Berlin provides helpline numbers to Nepali citizens in Ukraine

Kathmandu: As tension between Russia and Ukraine mounts to peak, the Embassy of Nepal in Berlin has requested the Nepali citizens in Ukraine to contact the embassy. 

“In this critical situation in Ukraine, the Embassy of Nepal requests all the Nepali nationals in Ukraine to constantly remain alert, safe and strong. The Embassy is also working day and night for the safe passage of our citizens out of Ukraine,” the embassy said.

“So far, all the Nepalis are safe and 3 of them have entered into the Republic of Slovakia and) additional 23 are one the way to Slovak border, 2 have entered into Republic of Hungary, 1 has’ entered into Romania and additional 2 are on the way to Romanian border and around 15 have already arrived in the Republic of Poland while additional 100 plus are in the process of registration at the reception centers after entry into Poland,” the embassy  said. 

According to the embassy, a total of 225 people living in Ukraine have contacted the Embassy as of now. It has also been issuing Travel Documents to those who are in need.

“The Embassy earnestly requests all the Nepalis who are still in the territory of Ukraine to follow the instructions of the concerned authorities, stay indoor and do not go out during the restricted hours, stay vigilant of the situation, be in possession of passport or other identity documents and cash amount all the time for emergency purpose, vaccination certificates if you are already vaccinated and contact the Embassy or other dedicated phone numbers in case of emergency,” the advisory reads.

According to Nepali mission in Berlin the border points opened for entry into of Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania are as follows:

Poland (Medyka , Korezowej, Dorohusk)

Slovakia (Vysne Nemecke-from Dastor in Ukraine)

Hungary (Chop (Tysa), Chop (Druzhba), Dzvinkove, Kosyno)

Romania (Siret, Lunca la Tisa, Sighetu Marmatiei)

The embassy has also given Nepalis stuck in various places of Ukraine the contact numbers of officials in case they face any problem on the way to safer destinations. The names of hte contact persons are as follows:
