In pics: Sadhus throng Pashupatinath Temple ahead of Mahashivaratri

Kathmandu: The Pashupati Area Development Trust has said that it has almost completed the preparations for the upcoming Mahashivaratri, a major Hindu festival dedicated to Lord Shiva.

The festival is being marked on Tuesday. Sadhus have already thronged the sacred temple of Pashupatinath, the oldest Hindu temple in Kathmandu.

PADT has said all works related to the security arrangements, worshipping to the Lord Pashupatinath, offering of the chandan, nighttime arrangements at the temple, food and accommodation to the devotees, reception to the sadhus and saints, the religious program, cleaning and sanitation, emergency health and medical treatment and mobilization of volunteers have been completed.
