Four die as bus plunges off bridge in Sarlahi

Kathmandu: At least four passengers were killed when a bus veered off a bridge at Lalbandi Municipality-17 in Sarlahi along the East-West Highway on Sunday.

Police said the bus, Na 4 Kha 8555, was heading to Janakpur from Birgunj when it met with an accident.

The identification of the deceased is yet to be ascertained. The injured are receiving treatment at different hospitals in Sarlahi, police said.

A preliminary investigation has revealed that the bus driver lost control of the steering after a front wheel of the bus exploded. The details of the mishap are awaited.
