Nepal beats PNG by 15 runs in Tri-Nation T20I Series

Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Papua New Guinea (PNG) by 15 runs in the first match in the ongoing Tri-Nation T20I Series on Monday.

Chasing 184 runs target set by Nepal, PNG got 168 runs losing all wickets in 19.2 overs. Norman Vanua of PNG top-scored at 52 runs.

Sandeep Lamichhane and Karan KC took three wickets each.

Earlier, Nepal set a 184 runs target against Papua New Guinea. Put to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal got 183 runs on the board losing nine wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Aasif Sheikh hit the highest 43 runs for Nepal off 35 balls as Rohit Paudel made 34 runs.

Alei Nao, Chad Soper and Charles Amini of PNG took two wickets each.
