PM Deuba to visit India from April 1-3, Indian Foreign Ministry confirms

Kathmandu: The Ministry of External Affairs of India has confirmed that Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is paying an official visit to India from April 1-3. 

The Ministry confirmed the visit by issuing a statement on Monday. At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sher Bahadur Deuba, Prime Minister of Nepal, accompanied by his spouse Dr Arzu Deuba, will pay an official visit to India from 01-03 April 2022, says the statement.

This will be the first bilateral visit abroad by the Prime Minister of Nepal after assuming his office in July 2021. A high-level delegation will accompany the Prime Minister, according to the statement.

PM Deuba is scheduled to call on the Vice President and hold talks with the Prime Minister on April 2.  External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will call on the Prime Minister of Nepal. Besides official engagements in New Delhi, the Prime Minister of Nepal will visit Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The upcoming visit will provide an opportunity to the two sides to review this wide-ranging cooperative partnership and to progress it further for the benefit of the two peoples, says the statement.
