Two injured in bomb blast in Itahari

Sunsari: Two persons were injured in a bomb blast on Monday late evening at 10:30 pm in Itahari 2, Navajagriti in Sunsari district. 

The injured have been identified as Ravin Thapa, 22,  and Sherjung Gurung, 23. According to police, Thapa, injured in the incident, has been sent to the Biratnagar Eye Hospital as he sustained injuries in his eyes. Likewise, Gurung has been sent to the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for treatment.

According to police, the improvised explosive device (IED) exploded at a home. Police have recovered flyers of ‘Himal Surakshya Parisadh’ from the room where the bomb exploded. 

The preliminary police investigation found that the cadres of ‘Himal Surakshya Parisadh’ had prepared the IED. The outfit, a month ago, had declared an armed conflict demanding that Nepal should be declared a Hindu state.
