Man convicted in banking fraud arrested

Kathmandu: Police have arrested a person on the run after being convicted of a banking offense from Boudha, Kathmandu on Sunday.

According to police, Dakman Gurung, 42, was convicted of a banking offense by the Patan High Court on March 12. Gurung, a permanent resident of Sandukpur Illam, is currently residing at Tarkeshwor Municipality-5.

The Patan High Court had sentenced Gurung to three days in prison and slapped a fine of Rs 1.5 million.

Though Gurung did not have enough balance in his account, he issued a check of Prabhu Bank to the victim.

Police presented Gurung before the Kathmandu District Court for implementation of the verdict.
