Kathmandu: Nepal defeated Zimbabwe ‘A’ by eight wickets in a T20 match played on Wednesday.

Nepal scored 138 runs on the board losing two wickets in 15.5 overs while chasing down 137 runs target set by Zimbabwe ‘A’ in the match played at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.

Aasif Sheikh top-scored 87 runs off 54 balls for Nepal remaining not out. Sheikh smashed 13 fours and a six. Kushal Bhurtel scored 36 runs off 26 balls.

Brandon Mavuta and Luke Jongwe of Zimbabwe ‘A’ grabbed a wicket apiece.

Earlier, put to bat first after losing the toss, Zimbabwe ‘A’ made 136 runs on the board losing seven wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Roy Kaia made the highest 49 runs for his team as Tadiwanashe Marumani and Luke Jongwe contributed 27 and 23 runs respectively.

Sandeep Lamichhane grabbed two wickets as Sompal Kami and Basir Ahamad took one wicket each for Nepal.
