Bowlers shine as Nepal hammers Zimbabwe ‘A’ by nine wickets

Kathmandu: Karan KC and Sompal Kami shared six wickets as Nepal hammered Zimbabwe ‘A’ by nine wickets in the second One-Day International match under a bilateral series on Saturday.

Nepal chased down an 88-runs target set by Zimbabwe ‘A’ in 11.2 overs as openers Sunil Dhamala and Aasif Sheikh contributed 38 and 34 runs respectively. Binod Bhandari hit four runs.

Earlier, Nepal restricted Zimbabwe ‘A’ to 87 runs. Put to bat first after losing the toss at the Kirtipur-based TU Cricket Ground, Zimbabwe managed to get only 87 runs on the board losing all wickets in 31.5 overs with a brilliant bowling spell by Nepali bowlers.

Karan KC and Sompal Kami grabbed three wickets each as Sandeep Lamichhane took two wickets for Nepal.

Johnathan Campbell top-scored for Zimbabwe at 20 runs as Brad Evans and Cephas Zhuwao made 20 and 10 runs respectively. No other batsmen managed to score double-digit runs.

Zimbabwe ‘A’ had defeated Nepal by three wickets in the first One-Day International match played on Friday.
