Local elections: Voting obstructed in 53 polling centers

Kathmandu: The Election Commission has said that voting has been obstructed in 53 polling centers across the country. According to the commission, polling was disrupted in 53 centers till Friday afternoon due to disputes, clashes, and other reasons.

The commission said the voting has been disrupted in one voting center each in Atharai Triveni in Taplejung, Diktel Rupakot Majuwagadhi in Khotang, and in Tamakoshi, Melung, and Baiteshwor of Dolakha.

Similarly, the voting process has been halted in one voting center each in Kamalamai, Dudhauli, Tinpatan and Hariharpurgadhi of Sindhuli, Mithila of Dhanusha, Bhangaha of Mahottari, Chakra Bhatta and Haribhavan of Sarlahi, Panchakanya of Nuwakot, Shankharapur of Kathmandu, Roshi of Kavre, Makwanpurgadhi of Makwanpur and Ghorahi of Dang.

Similarly, the voting has been disturbed in one voting center each in Sanni Triveni of Kalikot, Chankheli of Humla, Athabiskot of Dailekh, Budhiganga of Bajura, Budhinanda, and Swamikarthik of Bajura, Dhakari and Panchadeval of Achham, Jira Bhavani of Parsa, Khairhani and Bharatpur of Chitwan, Lungi of Rolpa and Tikapur and Bardagoria of Kailali.
