NC’s Nagesh Koirala takes lead in Biratnagar

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress candidate Nagesh Koirala is taking lead in Biratnagar Metropolis as vote counting is underway on Saturday afternoon.

With 700 votes counted, Koirala has received 269 votes. Sagar Thapa of UML has bagged 181 votes and independent candidate Umesh Yadav has got 70 votes. Yadav had quit Janata Samajwadi Party just before the election.

In the race for Deputy Mayor, CPN-UML’s candidate Shilpa Karki is leading with 236 votes, and JSPN’s candidate Amarendra Yadav has got 152 votes.
