NC dominates results tally with wins in 252 local units, UML victorious in 164 municipals

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) is leading the tally as the vote counting of local-level elections held on Friday has been completed in 569 municipals.

As per the final results, till Thursday afternoon, Nepali Congress has won Mayor/Chair in 252 local units and Deputy Mayor/ Vice-Chair in 234 municipals.

The CPN-UML has won Mayor/Chair in 164 municipals as the party’s candidates competing for Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair posts have won in 174 municipals.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center) is placed third winning Mayor/Chair in 105 municipals. The party has won Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair posts in 111 municipals.

Similarly, the Janata Samajwadi Party has won Mayor/Chair in 15 municipals and Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair in 15 municipals.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) has won Mayor/Chair in 12 municipals and Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair in 15 municipals.

Other parties and independent candidates have won mayoral posts in 21 local units and deputy mayoral posts in 15.
