NC’s Khel Raj Pandey elected Butwal mayor

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress (NC) candidate Khel Raj Pandey has been elected Mayor of Butwal Sub-metropolitan City garnering 30,130 votes.

Pandey defeated his close contestant Baburam Bhattarai of CPN-UML with a margin of 7,533 votes. Bhattrai received 22,597 votes as per the final results.

Likewise, UML’s Sabitri Devi Aryal has been elected Deputy Mayor of the sub-metropolis with 24,904 votes. Her closest rival Chin Bahadur Gurung of CPN (Unified Socialist) got 16,980 votes.
