Nepali Congress dominates tally in Nepal’s local elections as final results of 692 local units public

Kathmandu: The Nepali Congress (NC) is leading the results tally with wins in 306 local units as the results of local-level elections held on last Friday are announced.

The ruling party has won Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair posts in 282 municipalities/rural municipalities till 1 pm on Saturday. Results of 692 local units out of 753 have been announced so far.

The main opposition, CPN-UML, has emerged victorious in mayoral posts in 188 municipals and deputy mayoral posts in 212 municipals.

Likewise, CPN (Maoist Center) is placed third winning Mayor/Chair in 119 municipals. The party has won Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair posts in 123 municipals.

Similarly, the Janata Samajwadi Party has won Mayor/Chair in 25 municipals and Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair in 27 municipals.

The CPN (Unified Socialist) has won Mayor/Chair in 17 municipals and Deputy Mayor/Vice-Chair in 21 municipals.

Likewise, the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party has emerged victorious in mayoral posts in 10 local units and deputy mayoral posts in nine.

Other parties and independent candidates have won mayoral posts in 27 local units and deputy mayoral posts in 18.
