Three people killed in Chitwan storm identified

Chitwan: Three people who were killed in accidents triggered by heavy winds that lashed Bharatpur on Friday evening have been identified. Three people traveling in an auto rickshaw and a van were killed when a tree fell on them.

One of the deceased has been identified as Maya Gurung, 28, of Gandaki Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha and currently living in Bharatpur Metropolis-7, according to the District Police Office, Chitwan. Gurung was riding the vehicle (Na 2 Ha 2247) when it was hit by a tree at Bhojad Forest area of Bharatpur-11.
Similarly, 48-year-old Loknath Neupane died on the spot when a tree fell on a magic van (Na 1 Ja 6140) at Baseni Chowk in Bharatpur.

Eleven people have been injured in different places due to accidents triggered by the strong and heavy winds. They are undergoing treatment at different medical facilities in Bharatpur.
