UML wins mayor, deputy mayor in Tulsipur sub-metropolis

Kathmandu: The CPN-UML has won the major posts in the Tulsipur sub-metropolis, Dang in the May 13 local-level elections.

Party candidate Tikaram Khadka emerged victorious in the elections for a mayor and Syani Chaudhary won the deputy mayoral election. Khadka won the post by leaving behind his nearest competitor Gehendra Giri of the Nepali Congress with 3,691 votes. He secured 31,408, according to the Election Officer Office, Tulsipur chief Rajeshwor Aryal.

Similarly, Chaudhary obtained 30,597 and left behind her nearest competitor from the CPN (Unified Socialist) by 9,532 as the latter finished the race with 21,065.

The previous 2017 local election was also won by the UML in Tulsipur.
